Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Had a race through the traffic with a courier and I won. That's the same as beating a racer on the track. In my mind anyway. Then rode home through one of the country road routes. Although it was raining I really enjoyed the ride. Those Z8s are better in the wet than I gave them credit for. There's ...

I got bored with Banshee. I lasted half of the first season and gave up on it.

Cracking looking bikes but about £5k more than the SX.

Re: 2014 Kawasaki Z1000SX ongoing review

Aren't Suzukis generally made out of cheese? I've not heard too many glowing reports about their build quality. I like the SX, it ticks most boxes. It's not the greatest looking bike I know but you get a lot for your money. It's great for work and I had no complaints about it when I toured in France...

Re: 2014 Kawasaki Z1000SX ongoing review

I'll never say never. I'll take a look at the zzr1400 and the Versys 1000. There's not much else which appeals to me as a commuter. The VFR does nothing for me, I've been disappointed with the build quality of the Triumphs. The Tracer wasn't for me.

Re: 2014 Kawasaki Z1000SX ongoing review

Doing some window shopping. These bikes seem to hold their value. 2014 models with average mileage are going for around the £7k mark. I'm going to have a look in the autumn to see what the market is like. New ones can be had for around the £9k mark. I don't mind paying £2k to trade in for the latest...

Turkey

Might be a place to avoid for a couple of years. They've got ISIS and the PKK on their doorstep and both seem able to drift in and out of Turkey at will.

I had noticed recently that it has started to become more conservative.

Shame, I like the place.

Re: Seamless gearbox on a road bike?

Seamless gearboxes, like slick tyres or launch control they’re things that anyone who watches MotoGP knows about but is unlikely to have first-hand experience of. But while slicks will never make sense on the road seamless transmissions are very likely to make the leap from racetrack to showroom in ...
