Re: Ridelimousin Road & Off Road Holidays in France

It was me and Cookiemonster who did the off road day.

I'm looking to plan a small group ride out through France in June next year so subject to what the others say I'm hoping to stop by and do another off road day with you and hopefully stop over for a night.

In typical style the road was open on the two inside lanes, but he would not move over!!! 9 times out of 10 I would not have wasted anytime and just gone past, however this ...

That happened to me a few years ago. As I went to over take the BMW I had followed fit a while the back lit up. I gave him the thumbs up and stayed behind him until he left the A road.

Re: Off roading in France

he says its very capable off road - he has 2 sets of wheels too , although he has a "hybrid" tyre on atm which he's using for both , but he doesn't think it'll be any good off road if it gets too muddy

Re: Off roading in France

The biggest thing I learnt is that bikes are far more stable than we think and sometimes fighting movement is more likely to make you crash. The bike moving around on road doesn't phase me quite as much as it used to now.

Re: Off roading in France

... ride certain terrains. The bike does most of the work if you let it, but it's difficult to trust it as your used to pulling the bike around on the road. As a beginner I held on too much and tensed up too much on difficult sections, my hand grip still isn't back to full strength as you hold on for ...

Re: Off roading in France

... enduro , its a very capable bit of kit - lots of torque as you would expect from a big single and you can easily ride it to somewhere to go off-road I'd quite fancy something like that with two sets of wheels, one for road and one for knobblies. Depends if it can take a bashing off-road as it ...

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??

Nothing to the bike, but I'm a step closer to riding it again.

Picked up some leathers of Gumtree. Alpine stars 2 piece suit, in good condition and never been down the road. £120 with a pair of summer gloves.

Will keep me going until I've got enough spare cash to buy new ones.
