Re: Cat-D right offs

Nowt wrong with a Cat D, it's all as StM says, I also have one in my garage, the only drawbacks I've found are a significantly reduced selling price and in my own experience a refusal to take it as a part ex against another bike. Other than its all golden.

Re: Driving on the wrong side of the road.

... a roundabout. I rarely brake, gauging my speed to avoid ever having to stop... I don't use my indicators.!! Except I only do so, when there are no other road users to interact with. (angel) (apart from my avoiding braking). So I feel more than a little hypocritical when I'm constantly astounded ...

Re: Cat-D right offs

If you are happy that the bike is sound then there is no problem ith a Cat D other than it is not going to have the value of a non write off bike. It is one of the issues with insurers in that they write bikes off for the silliest of reasons. A freind of mine ...

... vehicle, and I just forwarded the costs to the insurance company. Never had anything come back. I hadn't even considered it would be anything other than this. The bike was in a thousand pieces anyway, so the recovery firm could keep it for all I cared.

He does need to be careful. If he pushes out the older crowd he'll end up with idiots from the Three Horseshoes coming in, then there will be trouble.

IMO he needs to be making it more for the families in the day with good food. In the evenings that garden is big enough for a band in the summer.

The prince got worse every year we were there and it was walking distance for us, so we used to try it every few weeks. Be interesting what he does.

Re: FAO Beermonster and Perkles (and other Brummies)

It's about £4.50 a pint for some of their beers. No one will pay that near us. They will all move to the Highbury, which has been done up. I like the way you get different types of people in each of the bars at the Oak. They need to keep that going. The food will be improved and he'll tidy up the ba...

FAO Beermonster and Perkles (and other Brummies)

The British Oak is changing hands soon. The guy who owns the Prince of Wales is taking on the lease, he should be starting in March. Hopefully he'll improve the place without it turning into a tossers paradise like the Prince. He'll kill the place off if he starts charging the same prices. On the pl...
