Re: A fling with an Africa Twin Adventure Sports
I'm half tempted to take the standard Africa Twin version (not the Adventure) out for a test ride to compare the two. Yes that would be a good comparison. I've heard the AS model has a lot firmer suspension in addition to being taller. Possibly you may prefer the standard AT. I'd be after the AS ma...

Re: A fling with an Africa Twin Adventure Sports
Given the time you own a bike and what it's used for I think a manual version would be more sensible for you. I saw one video from the US were he smashes it and it lands and hits a tree root which basically ends the bike there and then. If you do get one and take it off road, make sure you get some...

Re: A fling with an Africa Twin Adventure Sports
I'm going to check my finances after the move. I'm half tempted to get one as a forever bike. The Versys owes me nothing and it seems a shame to get rid of it and use another bike for commuting when the Versys is spot on for it. Versys 650 Africa Twin Sport +Nearly new sports or naked sports That's...

Re: Chinese Levers
I remember ASV replaced my lever(s) 'cos they'd turned purple.....there'd been some issue with the anodizing. Ironically, when you look at them through a tinted screen they look purple anyway. I suppose it comes down to whether you want them to look good, or work good. I get you matey! (y) Maybe ju...

Cool let me know what you think. You only need try the DCT.. The non DCT is the same bike and we all know a clutch is a clutch. Like I said it may not be for everyone or the purist. but I was impressed

Re: Africa Twin DCT
Hiya yes its not a screamer but will pull up to 120mph well (as i did (giggle) ). It is quite a torquey engine with nice pull from low down. And if I recall it started to red line at 8k rpm. But your already doing ban speed before then in 6th. I am guessing 90mph is its upper end long ride cruise sp...

Re: Africa Twin DCT
Haha gosh am i that transparent.. mate was a revelation. 20k miles a year on this would be a breeze. The seating position so much better than Tigger. More upright and less reach for my small arms lol.. seat very firm but pleasant. Just...Just.. one day.. one day.. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

Re: Chinese Levers
I'd never buy ASV. For the price I was annoyed after the black turned to dark purple. My bikes live outside But I may aswell have bought 10 pairs of Chinese levers and change them when they fade. I've had Chinese levers before and n3vwr had issue.

Re: Africa Twin DCT
There is so much you can adjust regarding the DCT system it's crazy. You can set the level of engine braking you like amongst other things. 7 riding modes. Is well tricked up.

Erm..unfortunately so. That's a right PITA if I'm honest. But I loved the bike enough to overlook it.Kwacky wrote:Aren't they tubed tyres as well?
