Snowdon ride

... you can shorten it to whatever you want, for example you don't need to go through Ruthin and Denbigh, you could turn left at the roundabout (nice road down to the A5 at Corwen, and take a right onto the A5, cuts off a long detour through Ruthin and Denbigh). Or stop over some place, Shrewsbury ...

Re: Not good reading

The road from Newtown to the Cross Gates is horrible. I say that as a biker. I avoid it, even though it's not that far from me, as the last time I rode it I had FIVE near-misses with morons on bikes going far too fast, underestimating ...

... are similar to pedal cyclists but I bet the police are not focusing on pedal cyclists who in my experience can be a real hazard to other road users. Looks like bikers are becoming a target again which is not good to hear as barring a few idiots most people are sensible safe riders.

Re: Not good reading

That's the road to Newtown from Craven Arms I believe.

Agree will be a high police presence especially at weekends and probably in unmarked BMW.

Tragic news though and thoughts and prayers with family and friends of the fallen bikers.

Re: Kwacky's very brief zx10r review

I think it's easy to argue that a bike is over geared when they're hitting 70mph in first, so the other 5 gears aren't needed on the road. As you say, changing the gearing is a quick and easy fix so it makes it possible to have the bike running the way you want. We ride bikes differently. ...

Re: Kwacky's very brief zx10r review

The only criticism they could level at it in sboty was it didn't have a quickshifter and was over geared but a quick £45 sprocket chain fixes one of those straight away and tbh although I would like a quickshifter I can't say I'm missing one on road riding duties tbh.

Kwacky's very brief zx10r review

Seeing as a couple of you have asked for my thoughts. Perkle's has what he calls his Test Road. It's got a couple of decent straights and some sharp corners, one of which is banked. So as we had a change of route today we headed for that road so I could have a go on ...

... temporary fix which may work and has done for me is screw in a self tapper with some silicone sealant on it. Will get you a few miles down the road no problem. If it doesn't seal It will be because a slit rather than a whole I would guess. Hope the info is helpful.

However over roads of poor condition its soaks up the bumps amazingly well. I'am impressed how easy it is going from side to side on a round about then picking a ...

... 40 miles in distance. If you had a smash and your insurer found you had a repaired tyre that was not suitable they could argue your bike is not road worthy and not pay out. It has been mentioned elsewhere so there is potential it could happen.

Re: Anyone got a spare £60k they can give me?

It's special I agree but not special enough to justify 60k imo. I genuinely would prefer the more road focused 1299 if I had the choice.

Re: Anyone got a spare £60k they can give me?

Think what you could buy with 60k (lol)

Ducati 1299s for the road, Yamaha R1M for the track and a BMW S1000XR for holidays and days out with the missus. Plus you would still have best part of 10 grand cash for fuel, tyres and track days (rock)
