Re: Biker in distress
I stopped for a Landrover Discovery on the Cat and Fiddle a few months ago. Rear wheel had come off and he was suck blocking the road on a really tight blind bend. Called the cops and started directing traffic while the owner fecked off to a near by house to call the AA. A few near misses later the ...

Re: Owned or ridden one of these?
Personally I'd rule out the singles then. I've done a few thousand miles around Europe on one and they run out of steam very quickly at motorway speeds and get very vibey.
That said I've not ridden a modern one so might be worth a test ride.

Not a great mile muncher if that's what you're looking for, but great for nipping around on. My mate runs one and it's pretty bullet proof, he's dropped it a far bit green laning and it's stood up very well.

Re: Saturday 24th May - Buxton/Derbyshire etc
Let you know nearer the time if i can make it but be aware its a Bank Holiday weekend and the area will be full of caravans and tourists. Not on the farm tracks I've got lined up, bring the Multi! Joking aside it is pretty bad for caravans but if you stay away from the main routes (which all have 5...

If anyone is arriving early for breakfast let me know and I'll point you in the right direction. There's a couple of good cafes a few minutes walk from the Crescent.

I'd find out what Gilles use and then don't use that! Yeah they have a certain reputation. Go to some one like probolt or race bolt Stew they will ensure you have the correct grade. The ones they supply on the rear sets use a smaller allen key than standard and almost impossible to undo without str...

How about meet at the Crescent by the spring. It's easy to find, there's motorbike parking and a chocolate/coffee shop if you get there early.
