Government should be investing in clean cheap public transport for urban areas, not building new roads.
Then you make motoring expensive in urban areas.
Also vehicles that pollute more should be taxed more both on new prices and annual road tax.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
No, I get it.
You think elderly pedestrians, likely to be slow and possibly with mobility issues, should be forced to cross the road, possibly in to the path of a delivery van or bin lorry, rather than possibly inconvenience the occasional vehicle.

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
There's plenty of room on the road. Sorry, but I disagree. If I park on the road, even tight up against the kerb, the remaining highway is too narrow for a normal car to pass comfortably*. Delivery vans, or the council bin lorry not at ...

Re: The electric car revolution
... we don't need it all. Give me a decent option to driving and i would use it every time. I hate driving. There are far too many vehicles on the road now. Totally agree the roads are far to congested, I like driving but only in empty roads at weird times when nobody is about

Re: The electric car revolution
In my opinion its a given that a some point we will all have a maximum carbon footprint to use which we can sell to others where we don't need it all.

Oh hell no. Smart meters will help them increase charging costs and road tax will become similar to in 2006/7 when an economical car would cost you £265 ish from memory

Re: What do you want to vent about today?
Guilty as charged.. I have a little house in a village near here that is on a cul-de-sac served by a single carriageway wide road. Both sides of the road have 4' wide tarmacadam pavements. The property does have a private drive, but that is usually occupied, so when I go there I'm one ...

People who park on pavements. There's no need for it. I've just complained to a neighbour. One of their visitors is completely blocking the pavement, forcing people in to the road.

Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Popped out for a morning blast while the roads were quiet.
Lovely day for riding, 20 ish degrees and no wind.
Just under 200 miles mainly round the Cotswolds with a lot of "that looks like a nice road" kind of random turns.

Birmingham city are officially under new ownership tomorrow. There's a leaked document showing plans for a £150m stadium and housing project just up the road from the current stadium.

... fix the knock sensor on a Pan European. He showed us his Honda Fire Storm and prized "Show Pony" a very customised and immaculate Harley Road King. Then he gave us a lift to his favourite local restaurant and wouldn't accept any cash for doing it, I got a couple of snaps on the walk back. ...

... It was our first wet day so the waterproofs were on and at one point I had to rely on the nav on my phone, zoomed right in to see where the road went... Re: What did you do to your bike today ??
Washed 2 weeks of bugs, tar and road grime off the bike and went over it twice first with Muc-off speed polish then again with quick detailer... I even washed the panniers. Then thoroughly cleaned and lubed the chain. Off to the dealer tomorrow ...
