Re: The new improved fitness thread
Blood sugars were sky high (16.1) this evening, not helped by a trip to Loaf on my way back from hospital...so I went for a speedy (for me) walk - 2.52 miles in 40 minutes at an average of about 3.5mph. It had the desired effect and my sugars had dropped to normal (6.2) when I got back. I think it ...

Re: The new improved fitness thread
recovery run this morning.. a lazy 11 km.. wtf.. this training plan is ramping up a fair bit. Hill (or incline out here) intervals yesterday... I told the treadmill I hated it when I walked into the gym at 4.15 am this morning. Training and 12 hr shifts are proving to be more mentally tough than I t...

I'd say go, for the same reason most others have mentioned, it will be of comfort to the family. When someone is taken early from you, you just wish their time alive was worthwhile. Workmates who are not obligated to show up for a funeral, showing up, helps to show she was "worth your while&quo...

Re: Talking in your lid
The main noise I make in my lid is to giggle like a school girl when I thoroughly enjoy some bike related shenanigans, section of road, echo of exhaust note or stupid acceleration... :D But I do swear a lot at cars too. I actually got on the bike a couple of times when I was home. still not 100% fin...

I recently bought a 55" Panasonic LED jobbie.. replaced a 8 yr old SD LG plasma. Theres an app you put on your iphone or ipad and you can stream content to the TV. So I "could" watch my porn that way when I had the house to myself...if I was so inclined

Re: The new improved fitness thread
70 mins on a treadmill sucked!! Watched a couple of TV episodes on my Ipad to pass the time. Ran at a comfortable pace (70% HR) and covered 15.2 kms. That was last years race pace so pretty happy with that! I put the treadmill on 1-2% incline and find that once I get home I do better pace on the roa...

A mate's sister lives in the outback somewhere near Perth. I don't know how often they do this but when his parents were there last time, the pest controller came round to spray the eaves of the house to get rid of the creepy crawlies. Next day apparently the verandah was covered in dead spiders th...

Into my second week of a 10 week run training program for the Sydney City 2 Surf (Target is the 14 km race in sub 60 mins). Running 5 days per week with 2 days of intervals/speed work. Having to do a good session of run related yoga stretches every day just to prevent locking up, running in your 40'...

My last night shift!! Yea-fooking-hoo!!
Was up at 5pm this evening, and next time I see a bed, it'll be my own and I would have been up for 30 hrs. Just have 1 helicopter ride, 2 plane flights and a 1.5 hr taxi ride to get thru' to get there.

There is loads of E10 already in France but it's next to normal 95 and super 98 not a replacement. Thats how it is here too Cookie, it replaced 91RON as the ec...

So its not added to higher RON petrol? AKA SuperPus? Ok thats in my bike now. Car is Diesel. Problem over for me :) Not normally dude, in Oz it's only in the 91 RON at 10% blend (E10). My new car has massive warnings not to use ethanol added fuels and that's a new car FFS. Bad idea all round :( Cau...

Yup, yup, and yup.... This topic grates me to no end, after 7 yrs of Refinery Operations experience I can tell you we hated the crap, it's a dangerous solvent, and required a special foam agent to fight fires involving ethanol as it breaks down the regular stuff. Australia has been adding it for yea...
