10 mile road race today, was going to try and pace it at 8:30 min/mile but that went wrong somewhere. Finished in 1:18, which is an average 7:49 min/mile. Needless to say, I'm well happy with that and also very knackered! Oh, ...

Gave the Versys some TLC as I try to reverse the effects of riding through the winter. It's not too bad but there's a load of gunk and road crap on the bike plus salt and grit caked in various places.

I'll do a bit of polishing and degreasing each time I wash the bike

I bottled it this morning and took the car. It's too cold and as it's dark when I set off I have no chance of seeing if there's any frost or ice on the road.
