I can honestly say you don't get the same level of abuse when riding a mountain bike on the road. I think it's the lycra that makes everyone assume you're an asshole. Unfortunately, the reason for that thought is because of the extreme minority

... ride up, ride around, ride home track day. Weather reports said dry... Yippee..... Silverstone said not chance mate its going to be wet. ... they earn money in other markets to subsidise our bills, they are called Electricity De France or EDF for short. It helps having no TV licence, no road tax and n MOTs for bike too. Sorry about that guys but judging by the amount of Brit plated bikes here you all love it too.

Found a kitchen knife chucked onto the side of the road on my ride home. Took pictures and put it in my backpack (with gloves on) and now on hold to 101 to report it. Very odd thing to throw out of the window and there has been a number of getaways ...

Aaaaargh! - Me back's knackin'!!!
I went out cycling yesterday....about 35 miles of reasonably steady road riding..... but the last 8-10 miles was not fun at all, and I'm paying for it this morning.
I think I'm going to end up spending the day in bed. Not very happy ATM.
