... the top box (lol) ) Jess had no gear so I've only bought her Kevlar Jeans and a Textile Jacket (and gloves and boots obviously!) once she is getting confident and our rides 2 up get more involved I'll get her some leathers.

Pointless unless the bike doesn't get properly hot when it does get used, if it gets hot you're driving out the moisture, and other than oil getting degraded through engine use its one of the only ways oil can get degraded.

Hence I always used a van or trailer after that - just in case. I've also been to plenty of trackdays where there's been a tannoy announcement ...

In the spirit of being a good lad I've got another mod to install for you Cookie mate. She's getting an underslung brembo rear brake. Got the bits just need to do a trial fit and then get a custom hose made up locally. Fingers crossed there are no clearance issues and ...

In the spirit of being a good lad I've got another mod to install for you Cookie mate.
She's getting an underslung brembo rear brake. Got the bits just need to do a trial fit and then get a custom hose made up locally. Fingers crossed there are no clearance issues and it's an easy mod.

Couldn't be bothered getting fully leathered up to go a few miles up the road and than have to sit around and wait so went in jacket and jeans. What I did like though was the Dainese in boots are aboslutely superb for riding in jacket ...

... these days. It seems that the CBR600rr does hold its price. Low mileage 2005 models are around £4k. I guess the build quality means you're still getting a bike in good condition, despite the age and the lack of updates means that the bikes from the last 10 years aren't that different .

I've got a light rain jacket I can put over my leathers, but the problem is taking a shirt to work rather than wearing one underneath my jacket. Plus leathers aren't that warm. I'm getting old and need my creature comforts.

I've got a waterproof Alpinestar motocross jacket I wear over my leathers, might be worth getting one as a short term fix. Think they only cost around 30 to 40 quid.
