As little solace as this may be; I've found where life closes one door, it often opens another.

I think it more has to do with body position as far as getting the knee down, as I get the knee down (occasionally), but not the peg. I'm absolutely no expert when it comes to riding quickly however.

Interpreted in my everyday speak, you just said, "'negative' 'til we do it again mate."

One thing I would look at given your location is a dual-sport bike such as a Suzuki DR650. Good mileage, good for highway and all around commuting, plus the power to do 70 mph plus. Not sure how available they are in China though.
