Re: Quickshifters
I have just fitted a Starlane unit to my '06 675. It was second hand (and the older model) but the new model now comes with a function that allows you to set a base RPM level above which it operates. The Starlane is completely different technology to others I've seen. There is a sensor that fits on ...

Re: What's your best biking moment
Plod in Victoria generally use current or recent model Holden Commodores (VE or VF) of Ford Falcons (FG). Camera cars tend to be SUVs like Holden Captivas or similar. Traffic Operation Group (TOG) or Traffic Management Unit (TMU - not sure what name they currently use!!) tend to use SS Commodores or...

Not her.
Definitely long black or very dark hair on a CBR600.
Had it bookmarked but deleted it as the missus wouldn't be too impressed! !

Re: What's your best biking moment
Dunno
About 4 years ago at a guess at Winton.
Long dark hair...
Maybe I'll google it and see what I remember.
Bit of a chauvinistic male ego trip beating a girl but fun none the less.

Re: What's your best biking moment
I only ride track now, and one of the reasons was the over-policing and bias towards pulling over bikes which are easy to target as they're a minority. I got pulled over 10:1 on the bike Vs car. In Vic there are fixed cameras in the tunnels and on majors roads/highways/tollways. There are red light ...

Re: Starlane Ionic NRG QuickShifter Install
Good thing about this system is that it's universal so you can swap it between bikes (given sufficient soannering time and patience! !). It's also got no moving parts like the strain gauge style which I have seen snap or fail. This system should even fit the ol' Daytona 600/650 as well if someone wa...

Re: Starlane Ionic NRG QuickShifter Install
After all that, I reckon it's the older model without the black wire for a base rev's setting. I still need to work out the main wire that powers all the injectors (as the generic installation diagram shows a single power source to all the injectors) whereas it looks like each injector has an indivi...

Re: Starlane Ionic NRG QuickShifter Install
after looking over the wiring diagram, I still have several questions... Firstly, where is the vehicle speed sensor located? Would I be correct in assuming it's on the gearbox and would pick-up gear position and engine rev's? Secondly, there are 3 wires from it - black/white (black after plug), pink...

Re: Starlane Ionic NRG QuickShifter Install
Real helpful bunch!! I'm actually glad I've bought a unit that is not a strain-gauge type as I've seen several fail including a Triumph unit (HM manufactured I believe) and Dynojet. For those of us in OZ, warranty can be an issue if it's imported and fails, although I bought this unit second hand fo...

Re: Starlane Ionic NRG QuickShifter Install
Thanks.
Someone on 675.net reckons the tacho wire is pink with yellow stripe but it would be nice to have that confirmed.
Also have the 'English' translated into comprehensible English would help too!!

Starlane Ionic NRG QuickShifter Install
These are one of the few stand alone units that fit first gen Daytona 675s (along side Bazzaz and Annitori) . Has anyone installed one? Here are the instructions: http://www.starlane.it/ftp/manuali/Ionic_NRG_Eng.pdf They're translated Italian and are a little hard to understand (for the electronical...

Re: Eastern Creek Track Day 12/10/14
Hope it ends better than those tackling Bathurst this weekend! ! It's been carnage and only 80 odd laps down. Good chance the safety car will cross the line first. Got the 675 at Broadford yesterday. First ride since my last track day in March. I used the day primarily as a shake-down before I hit P...

Re: Track bike
When it's delivered, could you get some info on the dash please. I have a mate with the same bike here in OZ but he hasn't ridden it since a big high side at Phillip Island where he fractured his collar bone. From memory, he went down a gear instead of up (race pattern rearsets) and apart from kissi...

He just messaged me saying things are tight... guess he's gunna pass on these.
He's not rich, just lives like a pauper with no wife or kids. Bikes are his life and his collection was started years before I met him... and that was about 12 or so years ago.

Re: Anyone want an old bike?
I've got a mate over in the UK who's currently doing stunt shows - Dave Russell, the Wizard of OZ - his big ticket trick is to jump a chopper with the rotors spinning at about 2500 rpm. He's also a Suzuki collector - mainly dirt bikes but has an RE5 and a couple of GT750 water bottles. Dunno how cas...
