Where does the time go?

It is hard to believe that on this day 12 months ago, I had arrived home from holiday to be taken straight to our local A & E where I was put straight onto oxygen and admitted into the cardio ward having been diagnosed with heart failure. There were times in that first 5 weeks where I wondered i...

Re: The Price of Sponsorship

It's £1,000 for the visor sticker Its' £7,500 for both sides of the helmet. That is quite expensive. At my old firm, we sponsored Talan Racing and the team as title sponsors for the season for £15k. So bikes were fully badged up as were the guys leathers, all the pit shirts, the vans and trailers (...

Re: Dainese Boots

If you read the next edition of South East Bike Magazine which will be available in about 4 weeks, I explain why as a result of case studies, experience and development that I am involved in, you do not really want leathers over the top of boots on the road. Fine on track, not a good idea for road r...

Surprising fact

Last night I went over to the Isle of Wight and met up with Paul at Pit-Stop training who invited me to attend the 2nd ever Isle of Wight bike night at Newport Football club. On Saturday the Island had a ride out for fallen freinds when over 350 bikes turned out, so last night only about 150 bikes t...

This morning I had a long chat with an expert we use for accident investigations and reconstructions. He's been to an annual conference and gave me a call to give me an update as it's an area we deal in.
Do you deal in personal injury claims?

Re: Black visors

There isn't a road legal level of tint for the sun visors (afaik). They're not subject to the same regulations as visors Absolutely right. Visors have to comply with BS4110 XA, YA or ZA and can only block out a maximum of 50% ambient light. A race visor blocks out 80% But the sun visor is accredite...

If anyone is a member of London MAG and going to the Miller near London Bridge tonight, do pop over and say Hi, as I am the guest speaker, it will be great to have a chat. Re: Black visors

It all depends on whether you come across a jobsworth or not. I was part of the BSI committee that tried to get 80% visors legalised. I won't go into the reasons as to why it never happened, but suffice to say that the Police were actually in favour of black visors being made legal on the bais that ...

Re: Thunderbirds

Who did the voices?? I always remember the Andersons would get great voice-actors or soundalikes to do the audio....Capt. Scarlet sounded like Cary Grant or something....but the audio was always well-done....especially Parker & Lady Penelope. They used the original voices. The three new episode...

Well, after a long wait, the finished item in the form of a new DVD arrived yesterday and I spent a pleasant evening watching 3 new never seen before epidodes and re-living my youth of 50 years ago. :)

Was it worth the wait? You bet.

Lets hope that a full new series gets commisioned.

Re: Talan Documentary

Just got home from having attended the premier. I feel very honoured to have been at the screening and so many words could be used to describe the end result. Humbling, inspirational, awsome, to name but a few., but ultimately respect for Talan, Steve, Louis and Will, respect to the guys who had the...

Black Tie job tonight. Premier of Dream the Impossible at the Curzon Cinema in Shaftsbury Avenue with Talan, Louis, Steve and the rest of the team as well as (apparently) a number of celebs, press and TV companies. Feel quite honoured to be one of the 150 invited guests. Had to make sure that the Tu...

Anyone going to Hastings on Monday?

As the title says, anyone going to Hastings for the 1066 event this coming bank holiday Monday?

If so, pop by and say Hi to my colleague Phil and myself. Phill should have his race bike there on show, and we will be happy to chat and answer any questions.

Lets hope the weather stays fine.

Yesterday I was in Nottingham meeting with the boss of Moto-Direct the importers of Arai, AGV, Dainese, Alpinestars etc. Anyway, we had a very productive meeting and then he said, tell me what you think of a new bike I have just brought. Went downstairs, and parked alongside a couple of 500GP bikes ...

Re: I am quite proud of myself

Well done TC (y) I gave up smoking 14 years ago. Might sound obvious but best advice imo is continue as you are and NEVER have a cigarette. I know if I have one it will lead to another as wrongly I will feel the addiction has past and I'm in control. Well done and log my it continue (y) I know what...
