Re: Africa Twin DCT

I was enquiring about the Adventure Sport model given it has 24L tank and I so hate stopping for fuel on the way to Stoke from London.. Salesman said these now come with full stainless steel spokes (not treated spokes). The standard AT has Dipped spokes so he stated but the AS version are made from ...

Africa Twin DCT

Hey up peeps... Long long time no see. Probably no one apart from Kwaky knows me on here anymore lol..... Anyway was passing a Honda dealer and thought I would have a look at the Africa Twin to replace my 800XC (which is the first and only non sport bike I have ever owned). And thought I would give ...

Re: Main Dealer Servicing

Cant say I m impressed with the so called experts looking after my bike. I've just bought a 4 & 1/2 year old bike with Full Main Dealer service history. There is 4 stamps in the book by 3 different dealers. The bike was last serviced 110 mile before I collected it. A quick look round the bike o...

Re: New gear

For what its worth I've never owned gear that lasts a year without being sent back or replaced.. right up to rukka premium stuff. Always something.. a leak or zipper or stitching. I've yet to find ANY that actually last or live up to expectations. I'm of the impression...build it into annual running...

Re: Wet weather KIt

What are you going to use it for, how often and what budget? There's various levels of waterproof in my experience. Be careful when buying trousers. Some of the waterproof ones aren't, they just have a waterproof lining so the outer layer gets soaked. Alpinestar stuff is waterproof but I've had iss...

Re: Tankbags

Got the GIVI tank lock bag. 3L version I think. Could be 5. Great bag. But comes with rain cover. Had for about 3 years and is main day pack. Very recommended.

They come in different sizes too

Re: Just one bike

Having had the R1, Versys, and Xc all at once I fully understand the pain at looking at biked sat there doing jack..or occasionally used. I have no regrets at having only the XC800 as sole bike. I can ride it like a hooligan and keep up with most... pack it stack it..... commute. And long haul it.. ...

Re: Triumph tiger 800 ?

Thanks folks and R1ckster your a star (y) The XC is the one I've been looking at as it does fit me a little better even though there's not much difference between it and the XR from what I've read , the small differences seem to be enough. How does the engine fair , enough torque to be slightly laz...

And a ball ache for everyone else on ADV bikes slowing up for him. This stuff is fine on an ADV.. see few pics. Of some ...

Re: Experienced travellers

Forgot to say a V2 visor sponge kit I've used every year for last 9 years. Cheap and the best imo. Self contained and stays moist and wipes all the shite off your visor

Re: Experienced travellers

Travel light as possible as yiu won't use half the stuff. I would take one pair of walking pants (much smaller to pack and lighter than jeans, plus dry very quick) a hoodie, 2 pair of shorts and tshirt and tgen just pants, socks and wash gear. Apart from docs yiu can buy anything else you may forge...

Re: Experienced travellers

I'm lucky as I'm stopping off at Cookie's so I can wash my stuff there. I know others have done the same as Kingfixer but I don't have any old underwear. I guess I'm relying on the weather being dry so I can keep the luggage light. I'd recommend a roll top dry liner for the r35 mate. Cost you 15 ab...
