Could be up for this.
Out of interest, my plan is to lat my mate have a bit of a go on track days as he has helped me get my bike sorted. If we are both using the same bike, would we have to pay 2 entrance fees? Is it per bike, or per rider? |

Sell something! My bike has never failed a noise test there and it's straight through with no cat or baffles. Plus I've never set any of the track sensors off. Monty™© MCMLXXII

Nah it's per rider and they give you an arm band, plus they check it on every grid. You could however go in the Inters and get your mate to go in the novice group. Monty™© MCMLXXII

Potentially keen - although I have floated the potential for Cadwell Park on the Sunday before then (through No Limits). Will wait and see what interest there is in that one. |

Brands is my local 'Big' track Lydden is the closet to me (about 10mins away). Would Brands be a good track for a first ever track day? Lydden is smaller would that be better for a newbe? |

I don't think the track matters for your first, it's about the company. Go on your own and run the risk of having a crap day. Go with some mates or folks off a forum and you'll enjoy the day more. 2005 Honda CBR600rr (Repsol)

Hey jim, I go to brans quite alot to watch racing and in my head I know the track better then any others and would rather go somewhere I have an idea of the track then not. I been round brans in an artic lorry as the pace truck for the truck racing a few years ago and it was awesome and would love to do it on a bike |

I did my first ever track day on my brand new 675 at Brands..hammered down with rain, new bike, never been on a track before. Once your on the track then the learning begins IMO, I studied the layout, watched a few vids, as well as the years watching racing in general. It was when I was on it things are very different. |

I've done a single session at brands as part of their taster package and I was really quite nervous, oddly one of the people in my group was a girl who was in my CBT group. I was quite nervous and was worried I was going to do something stupid and bin the bike which I'd only had for a month at this stage, this wasn't helped by the first corner which as you enter it feels like a sheer drop but as the session was coming to an end I was starting to get into it.
The safety briefing was good though so everyone went out knowing what was expected of them & they are a pro track so safety is taken seriously, not saying that Lydden would be lax but at Brands if something did happen they would definitely know how to handle it. Edit: also I was told on the weekend that the whole track at Brands has been resurfaced recently Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 13/02/2011 11:34PM by hubington. |

Ok, so I'm feeling a little '~C~R~A~Z~Y~' today and despite still owning two knackered Honda Hornets, I've just booked me a place on this and didn't choose to hire a bike from them No excuse not to get out in the garage and fix-up one of the bikes now! PS. 2 spaces remaining as of 12:45pm 15th February. Hazza - go get a space! It'll be an awesome day |

I just gave them a call, she said they had around 9 spaces for the beginers group.....If its your first trackday then they give you 5% off as well.
I get paid again at the end of the month, think i am going to go for it if they still have spaces. |

That's weird, I could have sworn it told me the spaces left before I'd chosen my group. So I assumed it was total spaces left for the day. Ok my fail, sorry people!
Great news that there's still room for more slappers to go!! Monty: yeah i booked inters, which could be a mistake as I haven't ridden for 6 months! ________________________________________

Ok, so this morning I bit the bullet and after realising that my 1999 hornet just isn't gonna cut it even if it's ready on time, I phoned up and booked a track-prepared 2010 Yamaha R6 for the day WOOOOOOOOP WOOOOOOOOP!!!!!
I shifted my booking from inters back to novices though because I'm gonna turn up having never ridden the bike and won't know it at all, so I'm going to be a bit slower than usual. They said I can move up to inters later in the day once I've got used to the bike if I wanted to, so that's good! JT (aka The Tonkin that all Triumphs dislike) - who some of you know from d600.org, has also booked a spot on the day and has bagged a place in the novices with me on a hired Ninja ZX-6R! Ooooooohhhh yeeeeeaahhhhhhh!!! So at the moment, of the people I know to be going: Novice: Tonk/JT: Hired 2010 Ninja ZX-6R Muppet/Luca: 2004 Suzuki GSXR 600 Critch/Daniel: Hired 2010 Yamaha R6 Inters: Monty/Rob: Daytona 650 Flow/Andrew: Street Triple R Anyone else from Tankslap going? Hazza - 10 days til payday expires tomorrow by my reckoning - are you in? £115 for the day and if it's your first track day I read somewhere you get 5% off. ________________________________________

Have got Silverstone GP this coming Wednesday. If all goes well and I can afford a new set of tyres within the month, don't be surprised to see my try to book myself onto this one ;op |

Booked it, packed it, fooked off...!
Novice: Tonk/JT: Hired 2010 Ninja ZX-6R Muppet/Luca: 2004 Suzuki GSXR 600 Critch/Daniel: Hired 2010 Yamaha R6 Tim: 2006 KTM 950 Supermoto Inters: Monty/Rob: Daytona 650 Flow/Andrew: Street Triple R Will see how I get on with novices. Might move up if the times/traffic warrant it. Have done the Indy circuit before and it is short so it might come back relatively and quickly. I'll be bringing tools and other bits and pieces in the pickup. Let me know if there's anything people will find particularly useful. |

Tim - great news!
I'd love it if you could bring a couple of tyre warmers along - perhaps blonde and around 6 foot tall?!! That'd be ace Harriet - have you booked yet?? ________________________________________
