What time are you planning to be there? Felt a bit off colour as been surrounded by people with coughs and colds and worse all week. But i think it might well be the last opportunity to get the Duke out til spring.

it was cold and the roads were damp but the bacon and mushroom sarnie was good and it was worth the trip to hear D63's duke on full chat.

Was good to meet up even if it was brief.

The Duke had a wash and has now been hibernated... though i reckon a pleasantly mild, dry, saltless winter's day may see it being given a spin.

I can't wait for next summer it is just such a blast to ride. Not silly quick but the speed is very deceptive.
A couple of times i've looked down at the clocks to be surprised by the speed i am doing.

And it makes me appreciate more the plusses of the Fireblade when i get out on that again.

You've still got the Honda as well then? Lucky sod Smile

I'm just waiting to find out that I've not been selected for redundancy then I might think about what bike to get next. Should know very soon either way.

is that good news or bad news? I know a few people who were pissed off when they weren't selected for redundancy.

Yes still got the Honda.

I hum'd and ha'd a lot over whether to trade it in and maybe go for a 848 but even a s/h 848 would have been £7k and for that same £7k , i still have the Honda and the 748 and a trackbike....and not much room in the garage for anything else. Covered Laugh

..and yes i do appreciate how lucky i am.....and in having an understanding wife! Heart

Yep... the wife isn't the problem here. I've had a bit of bad luck with cars in recent years so I'm already loaned up for the latest one... although it is the best car I've had so I'm happy. Not that I use it that often even if I do pay for it Smile

The redundancy thing is good for me. The company put half the staff (c. 6k) at risk but it looks like I'll be keeping my job. It's been the uncertainty over 3 months of consultation that's been the killer because you just can't plan. It looks like it might be over now though although the pension pot is also being raided.

Once I'm certain about the job position I'll consider trading my bike in for another. It might be for another 05 R6 if I can find one... blue would be good and lower mileage (although that shouldn't be a problem!).

The other idea is to buy a second cheaper bike. I quite fancy something like a Yamaha YZF750R. My Dad had one a few years back and it was awesome - although some dodgy colour schemes.
