Right - changed my time zone from default to GMT and now it says 16th at 0530

there are cars there now. It seems to be turning into a general meet rather than a bike meet.

The police are present but low key

Police presence was surprisingly low key the other week...but under no circumstances exceed the speed limit on the way in. They are waiting for you !

The 998 i saw coming in was parked up by my bike. £5k miles and immaculate. I got a couple of photos which i will post up tomorrow.

No didn't seem to be. They are quite rare i believe and worth more than an equivalent-aged 999.

Wasn't the 998 seen as a bit of a stop gap before the 999 came out?

I think it was to use up the last of the 996 bits and bobs really. There was a time when both the 998 and 999 could be bought new.

It used the Testastretta engine which was a new design at the time, was first used in the 996R and went on to be used in the 999.

It makes about 135bhp which i reckon is a good balance of power for any bike. Plenty enough to be fun but not so much that you can't use it.

135 is enough for most people. You're not going to track it so you should be able to reach road legal speeds and stay there without too much fuss.
