I already did a thread for this. I'm already booked with two others in Novice. And there's a few from D600 org.

I'll have a look in a few weeks.

Got to be a bit careful with money at the moment as i feel we may be heading for the next round of bankruptcies for companies and i have got one or two who may come into that category. Sad Smile

Who's doing it so far? I takeit Kwacky is still out. (I've started posting in this thread - as this is the one linked to the calender)

I am defo.
Beamo has just had braided lines and new pads on his k4 GSXR600 ready
Matt has just put his Aprilia RSV edwards rep up for sale - so will probably be pottering around. Hopefully it'll get him back into bikes (think he's lost the urge at the moment)

Righto.

I think my old man and maybe my best mate (who doesn't ride) might also come and watch.

UUggghh, I keep checking the forecast. Cant believe Saturday is gonna be soo bad inbetween reasonable days.

There appears to be a band of rain sweeping from the Atlantic. I can only hope it either speeds up or slows down, so that it doesn't pass over during saturday track time.

They were forecasting last Sunday's Motogp would be dire, even the day before...and still got it wrong so i wouldn't read too much into what those muppets say!

I reckon you'll get some showers. You should get at least 3 dry sessions but the track wont be dry or very warm.

Apparently if you were predict tomorrows weather to be the same as today, you will be statistically more accurate than the Met Office!

Looks like the wind could be more of a problem than the rain!

Wet old day at Mallory - I was planning on riding down but ended up going in the car
One of the www.daytona600.org boys had an off but fortunatley, due his crash bungs got away with it quite lightly as seen below and a broken rearset and scuffed link pipe

Tankslap's very own D6 is on the the one dressed as 'The Stig' but in a negative format and I think the guy on the 'Mille' is one of his mates who popped his TrackDay Cherry

Cheers for the photos Spudda, and good seeing you again. You and Kwacky definantly did the right thing missing that trackday out.

At times the track was really wet. There was one session which hada dry line in parts of the track - but even that session started raining again, and on the last lap or two te dry line had vanished again.

I felt bad mostly for my two mates (yup one on the MIlle, other on a GSXR) who had a bit of a crap time for their first trackday. Especially as the Mille guy is thinking of packing up bikes. I was hoping for a good day and it would change his mind. Oh well.

Yeah got two sessions. The sound is knackered. I must have knocked the connection at some point as it wasn't always on. I'll have to put music over or sommet.

Have got to convert it to a format ready for editing.

the first is a wet session. I follow my mate on the Mille for most of it. I thought about overtaking a few times (especially at the hairpin where he was struggling) but to be honest in those conditions I was happy sitting behind him. I wanted to be sure to get my bike home in one piece (I've not got the luxury of R+G's, lol)

The second is the driest session we had. A bit of a dry line in places, and a better video. I even passed a few riders, despite my shoulder injury (which the doc from daytona600.org [M101 i thik] said sounds like a rotator cuff strain, whatever that is)

By the end of the session it was really uncomfortable, and when the last two sessions were raining quite hard - I was happy to head for home instead.

Rotator cuff is the name for a group of muscles around your shoulder. You may have some inflammation of the muscles or tendons. Best get it checked out. It's easy enough to sort out.

How did you do against the Daytona 650? You two seem to be close to each other in most of Spudda's photos.

He was very confident in the wet and out braked me to pass a couple of times. With my shoulder I was having to brake a lot earlier (for fear of not being able to brake hard enough) and I think his brembo thing helps him with it too. My wet weather confidence is a bit lower too after losing it approaching an island the other day. I was happy to take it easy and have my bike in one piece.

At Donny, I remember carrying more speed out of corners a few times and start to pull level, only for those extra 50cc's to then take him away on the straight. We're at a very similar skill level, but those extra 50cc's sure help him drive out of corners and hit higher speeds on straights.

The 675 was struggling for grip (not much tread on edges of tyres) so that was hard to judge. I caught and passed him on the dry session (should see it on the vid)but he must have then kept with me as when on the slow down lap he passes coming into Edwinas.

I gotta admit with standard cans on it sounded a bit crap.

the 675 does need race cans. That said a lot of bikes do otherwise they're just too quiet.

The smaller lighter bikes seem to do well at Mallory so I suspect that the 675 would be a very good bike around there.

The R6 were popular, and seemed very quick (in the fast group). The straight isn't long enough to need a big bike, although the Mille did surge away from me down it.

I reckon even on the dryer session I was a good 5 seconds slower then I normally go around Mallory. Just lately things aren't clicking for me on the bike. I seem to have lost quite a bit of confidence from the front. Dunno if my tyres are starting to square, not riding enough (not including commuting) shitty weather, sloppy suspension or more likely a combination of all of them.

Probably a combo. Wet roads dont do much for confidence and if the suspension hasn't been refreshed for a while them it could start to go stale.

How many miles you got on the bike?

Around 13000 I think.

I did stiffen most of the suspension up one click - and it does feel a lot better on a bumpy road on the way to work. It used to fling me out of the seat, and while it still does, it doesn't seem quite as vicous. (is that how you spell that <---- ?)

Lol, didn't think so. The more I tried though, the worse it looked. I think I got viscous at one point.

There's some more pics taken from Daytona650's missus.

I like the pics with the lake behind. The track was almost as wet!!!

My Talon Sprocket looks nice and clean too (although i did actually clean and lube it before the day)

You can see the puddles in the second pic.
